2015 Headliner: Kevin Fowler
The City of Dickinson is excited to announce that Texas artist Kevin Fowler will headline its Sixth Annual Red, White & Bayou Crawfish and Texas Music Festival scheduled for Saturday, May 16, 2015, from 11:00 am until 11:00 pm at the intersection of FM 517 and Highway 3 in Dickinson.
“We are excited to have Kevin Fowler headline this year’s Festival,” said Julie Robinson, City Administrator. “The Festival is known for highlighting artists that represent the best that Texas music has to offer, and Kevin Fowler will take the event to a whole new level. We are already counting down the days until he will take the stage!”
PURCHASE PRE-SALE TICKETS FOR $5.00:
Kevin Fowler is an American Texas Country artist. He has released five studio albums, and has charted four singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including the top 40 hit "Pound Sign". In addition, he wrote Sammy Kershaw's 2003 single "Beer, Bait & Ammo", Mark Chesnutt's 2004 single "The Lord Loves the Drinkin' Man" and Montgomery Gentry's 2009 single "Long Line of Losers".
“How Country Are Ya?” – Fowler’s seventh studio album and his first for Kevin Fowler Records in a joint venture with Nashville’s Thirty Tigers - is the good-timing, tradition-steeped and honky-tonk-stomping Amarillo native’s return to basics effort. A year in the making, the album features 15 fresh tunes (he wrote all of them except for the raucous instrumental “Mousturdonus“) and was produced by Ken Tondre, Fowler’s drummer, at Tondre’s The Compound Recording Studio in Austin.
In addition to the hugely popular Kevin Fowler, festival-goers will be able to enjoy three additional Texas bands taking the stage throughout the day: Grupo Vida, Zane Williams, and Curtis Poullard and The Creole Zydeco Band. The Festival will also feature some of the Dickinson area’s finest vendors offering product sales, a Kid Zone with rides and activities for kids of all ages, the always-popular crawfish races, and some of the best crawfish on the Gulf Coast. Other great foods will also be available for purchase.
Tickets to the event are only $5.00 until May 15th at 7:00 pm and are currently available for purchase online at Dickinson City Hall and the Dickinson Historic Railroad Center, or you can purchase tickets on the day of the Festival at the gate. Beginning at 7:00 pm on May 16th, tickets will be $10.00. However, new for 2015, admission to this year’s Festival will be free for any military personnel with an active Military ID in honor of Armed Forces Day! No outside food and beverage will be allowed. The Festival gates will be open from 11:00 am to 11:00 pm.
